Fall Spooktacular in Jorgens Park Preserve
The Friends of Jorgens Park Preserve, the Scandinavia Booster Club, and the Scandinavia Public Library are joining together for a spooktacular event in Jorgens Park Preserve!
From 3-6 p.m., on Sunday, October 28, these groups will offer several free activities for families to enjoy.
Next to the parking area, the Scandinavia Booster Club will host “Trunk or Treat.” Kids can check out the decorated cars as they walk trunk-to-trunk collecting treats.
At the picnic pavilion, families can hear spooky stories told by librarian Meredith from the Scandinavia Public Library.
Afterwards they can board a wagon for a hay ride around the park, sponsored by the Friends of Jorgens Park Preserve, and watch pumpkins being shot from a pumpkin catapult!
As the sun sets, the event will wrap up with a (non-frightening) night time tour of the library's story walk, featuring Dav Pilkey's monstrous "Dogzilla," beginning at 6 p.m. Walkers should remember to bring their flashlights!
These activities are free to the public. Participants assume liability for all activities.
Jorgens Park Preserve is located at 880 North Shore Drive, just off Highway 49 on the north side of Silver Lake in Scandinavia.
If you or your group would like to have your vehicle in “Trunk or Treat,” please contact Sue Barlow at 715-467-2868.
